January is Dog License Month in Union Beach
All dogs in the borough must be registered by state law. The borough will be accepting early registration on line through GovPilot. We will post when the exact date is live. In addition to uploading your rabies certificate a picture of your dog would be appreciated. The Police Department has a program that can recognize the picture of your dog and notify you if it should ever get out.
Message from Mayor Cocuzza (pdf)
I hope all of you had a wonderful summer making many memories with family and friends and that everyone enjoys the autumn weather before we head toward the winter months and the Holiday Season!
As we leave the summer months behind, we remind everyone to please drive carefully, as the children have returned to school and we anticipate a great deal of traffic during drop off and pick up times.
As many of you may have noticed, the Borough had many road reconstruction projects taking place throughout town which I have listed below:
NJNG Energy Assistance
Energy assistance programs are not limited to lower-income households, and free grants may be available for the moderate-income family.* For example, a family of four with a household income of up to $123,430 may qualify for some assistance. In fact, customers may qualify for more than one program.

This film was produced by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States of America. The film, directed by Adam Worth, is in partnership with the Monmouth County Historical Association with support from Monmouth University, and incorporates archival records and original interviews with Monmouth County, New Jersey residents impacted by the events of 9/11, including widows, survivors, first responders, historians, government officials, and more.
The purpose of this film is to preserve the history of Monmouth County, New Jersey, 9/11, its aftermath.
Monmouth County Planning Board-CRS
The CRS program which is run by FEMA through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) scores communities on their effectiveness in dealing with flood mitigation as well as flood plain management and development. Flood insurance policy holders in participating CRS communities are eligible for discounts in Special Flood Hazard Areas based on their community’s CRS rating. The Monmouth County Division of Planning and the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management have partnered to offer their professional and technical expertise in hazard mitigation, community planning, public outreach, and GIS mapping to municipalities that wish to participate in the Monmouth County Community Rating System Assistance Program.
